El Encanto in Cave Creek is an experience like no other. It has probably been 10 years since we first were sent to try out their Mexican food. The courtyard with its pond and walls, and its many feathered ducks, swans, and birds is as enjoyable as being in an old hacienda. The "home" area is also the best ambiance we have seen anywhere in the major metro area...so authentic everywhere that food and drink is served. El Encanto is expanding in other areas but as yet has not re-created the atmosphere that is in Cave Creek.

I chose to eat at this restaurant by accident one scorching Arizona day. It was like I had walked through their doors into another world... an open air cafe shaded by trees, little birds chirping and swooping down to tables for crumbs, the sound of water from their tableside pond where my son could buy food for a quarter to feed the ducks!

Excellent food, outdoor dining available next to a pond with geese and ducks and a waterfall, beautiful! I drive 40 miles to eat here!
