I needed a large, mature Maple tree removed from my property. Contracted Sunset Valley Tree Service to fell the tree, remove all materials, grind the stump, and remove stump grindings.

Mr. Massie began work on the tree on 26 Dec 16 and over the course of several days cut down all but approximately 12' of the main trunk. By 30 Dec 16, he removed the limbs/branches and did some clean up. Mr. Massie stated he would be back within two weeks to bring down the rest of the trunk and grind out the stump. At this time he requested a partial payment for the work completed which I provided $1,400.00 of the agreed $1,600.00. I have made numerous attempts to contact Mr. Massie and have left at least three voicemails to which he has not responded. Additionally, sent a certified letter along with a copy of the contract and copy of the cleared check for partial payment to his address. The postmaster attempted to deliver the signature required certified letter but there was no answer at the door. The postmaster left a notice in the mail box that there was a certified letter that needed to be picked up at the post office. Mr. Massie never responded to the post office to retrieve the certified letter which was returned to me after 15 days. I have no complaints about the quality of work that was actually completed however he has failed to meet the terms of the contract for over nine months. I now have a 12' trunk in my front yard which will cost me more than the remaining obligation on the contract to have removed by another company. I would encourage anyone considering Sunset Valley Tree Service in Casstown, OH to fully evaluate this review along with several other reviews available at other online consumer sites.
