General Info
Growing up in Jamaica, family dinners were a tradition. My mother, Mama Joyce, made dinner, and my cousins, brothers and sister all gathered around the table to eat and enjoy each other's company. On Sundays our extended family joined us for dinner, and Mama Joyce made fresh fruit juice to accompany our meals. We would pick the fruit in season from the nearby farmer's market. From mango, to passion fruit, to soursop--Mama Joyce would whip up a delicious concoction that complimented every meal to perfection.? It is with these fond memories, that we created The Island Spot, an authentic island restaurant where you can come to taste the flavors Jamaica and the Caribbean in a fun and vibrant atmosphere. We invite you to enjoy our authentic food. From Jerk chicken to curry shrimp, and fresh squeezed juices-- Mama Joyce's recipes remain a staple for all of our dishes. Explore our authentic decor. Take a look at our family portraits and our personal photographs of our favorite spots in Jamaica. And of course, no Caribbean experience is complete without the sounds of Jamaica's smooth reggae of icons such Bob Marley, the energetic beats of soca legend Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, or the unmistakable sound of steels drums in the atmosphere. The Island Spot is truly our spot. The Island Spot is family owned and operated. Our goal is to provide a window into our lives growing up in Spanish Town, Jamaica and dining in the Caribbean. The Island Spot is a place where family and friends can come together to share fun and wonderful memories around the dinner table. Come and dine with us at The Island Spot. We hit the spot.
