Quaint, fun, good quality
We stopped in one night with limited time just for wine and appetizers. Everything was wonderful, plus very friendly and knowledgeable service. Best we've had in Carbondale so far, and didn't even make it to the full menu! Will definitely return again for the full meal deal.

Okay I guess you can not please everyone. I have been to the global gourmet and the food was to die for and the the ambiance was great as well as the owner and staff. Okay what do you expect in a college town.

One of the better restaurants in Carbondale however it definitely peaked a few years ago. The food is good but the servings are embarrassingly skimpy. The prices, however, are not skimpy! Not a good choice if you are famished as you will probably still be hungry when you leave. A good choice if you want dessert & a drink. There is very little privacy as the tables are very close together and you can hear everything everyone says. The host is quite rude so steer clear of this guy if you want to enjoy yourself.

Horrible!The decor is tacky. The vibe is dramatic and tacky. The food is hardly gourmet. Stay clear of the seafood as it is not fresh and just not prepared well. The scene is very distasteful. The owners a man named Tippy and a woman name Andrea are just plain rude. I have heard her yelling and cursing from the kitchen at her employees. He is known to be too hands on. The wine is great! However, you have to bear the environment.

good desserts, but everything else struggles to even achieve mediocre status. rookie wait staff is hard to ignore. the pedestrian menu items trying to be passed of as gourmet is laughable. stick to the drinks and sweets to avoid disappointment.

Food was poor and the service was just as bad. Not a place to eat, go for and drink and eat elsewhere.

The food and atmosphere are first rate. Without a doubt, the best dining experience in the area.

Global Gourmet is the best bistro style eatery in the Carondale area. The food is great, although the portions are very small and they tend to run out of some items. The wine selection is wonderful as well as available by the glass at reasonable prices. The deserts are to die for and by far the best in town!
