- Primary CareDr. Mazur is a primary care optometrist who joined Horizon Eye Care in 2001 after working for a medical practice outside Philadelphia. Dr. Mazur is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is committed to providing outstanding eye care for patients in the Egg Harbor Township and Ocean City locations. As a primary care optometrist, she helps patients with their glasses, contacts, and surgical options for Lasik and cataracts. She is therapeutically licensed to treat eye disease.
- Emergency CareHe graduated from George Washington Medical School and completed his ophthalmology training at University of California, Davis. Dr. Gross served as an Emergency Room Director at Kirkland Air Force Base before beginning his practice in South Jersey. He has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and refractive procedures and was the first physician bringing LASIK to the area. In 2005, Dr. Gross took the lead in offering advanced multifocal lens implants, providing patients more alternatives for reducing their dependency on glasses and contact lenses.

He specializes in refractive surgery and has completed thousands of refractive surgeries, including LASIK/PRK and cataract extraction. He is happy to offer LASIK/PRK in our surgery center in Margate. He has advanced knowledge of specialty lenses designed to minimize the need for glasses after cataract surgery through the correction of presbyopia and astigmatism. He also has significant experience diagnosing and treating glaucoma and offers iStent implantation as well as SLT laser for lowering intraocular pressure. Dr. McLaughlin also offers blepharoplasty and pterygium excision.
- Skin CancerDr. McLaughlin is a native of Philadelphia. He became an ophthalmologist because he wanted to be a surgeon with the ability to impact lives. He earned his medical doctorate at George Washington University in Washington, DC. He then completed a medical internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center and then served as Chief Resident at Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. During his training he completed multiple research projects in the oncology department at Wills Eye Hospital, including publications on iris melanoma, retinoblastoma, and diabetic retinopathy. His experience in residency with ocular trauma and advanced pathology will continue the commitment of Horizon Eye Care to staying at the forefront of eye care in the Southern New Jersey Seashore area.
- FungusAvoid water activities with contacts due to risk of contamination from beach, pool, or spa water. Microorganisms in the water can adhere to the contacts and then attach to the cornea, causing severe infections. FDA guidelines are returning to a recommendation to “rub and rinse” instead of the “No rub” option due to the recent history of increased contact infections secondary to amoeba and fungus.
