My grandmother, Helen, stayed here during the last several years of her life. The atmosphere was laid back and caring. The husband and wife that run this place are wonderful people. They made my grandmother able to enjoy her last years and they really "cared" for her. During the last year of my grandmothers life, she probably should have been moved to a home that was more like a hospital. but these people kept her at Sherwood and just took on the extra responsibilities of caring for her. My grandmother was always very independent and didn't ever want to be in a "home." She always said she didn't want to be a burden to anyone. She didn't talk much during her last couple of years, so noone knows what she was ever really thinking; but if you looked into her eyes, she was still there. And I really think that she felt good being at Sherwood. I deeply miss being able to visit my grandmother and Sherwood. But I want them to know that we are so grateful for everything! Amber Eidson
