took my 4 month old puppy in today because i figured it was an "Emergency Hospital" just for them to tell me they couldn't help me because i only had $25 on my card, told them i got paid in 2 days and they said sorry we can't see you the initial visit is $75 and they wanted to do 2 tests for $150 on top of that to rule out what might be wrong, now my dog might not make it to pay day. every place i called said sorry we can't help you if you don't have the money up front. it's so sad that people put money before the life of a living creature of any kind

I took my cat Tiny to this place after she stopped eating,I waited 2 hours for them to see her. I was told by Samantha Heiken,DVM she had pancreatitis twice, I had asked her twice if she had abdominal cancer, you see I had a cat die from this I knew the signs, but I was told NO both times. After they put her through shots and things she had didn't have to withstand, they set her home. 1300.00 dollars later. 5 days after that she stopped eating again,Itook her to my regular Vet and they said that from the records the clinic sent she did have abdominal cancer. I don't care about the money so much as they made her suffer for it! It was my job to make sure she was taken good care of,for $1300.00 I Made her suffer!
If this clinic was in Texas and not in Ohio I could sue and they would be in jail, they don't care about your animal only the money!!!!

Once again an emergency on Fri night.. Dying, suffering, cat. They said $90 to come and and If you want to be with her it would be another $70. Are you kidding me?
What? to watch them stick a needle in her and watch her die? I Three times what vets charge during the day.
It is a luxury to own a pet. too bad there isn't a minus 5 stars. Notice no good reviews..

Will NEVER be going there again the state was rude to me and they wanted 2000$ and couldn't even say what was wrong with my dog. It was 88$ just to see the vet and another 60$ for a valium injection. Then they wanted 700$ to do a blood test and an x-ray, then wanted to hospitalize for 1800$. Needless to say I can't afford.

Doctor was late to work, my grandma was waiting for 30 minutes past 6pm, and decided she was taking her dog somewhere else. They kept her dog in the back and then the doctor suddenly appeared and spoke to her, just so that they could charge her the $78 exam fee!! She paid so they she could get her dog and leave. Unprofessional and shady move. They intimidated an old lady!

My mom took her dog there and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis, she didn't want to hospitalize him at 2am because she had an appointment at 8am with her regular doctor. She just wanted him stabilized so she could take him home. They judged her and acted like she was a bad pet owner. Horrible attitudes from the nurses. There was nothing wrong with her choice, and if she decided if she needed to bring him back before 8am, they would still be there. Stark ER closes at 8am anyway, THEY ARE NOT A 24/7 HOSPITAL!

Side note: I am a Registered Veterinary Technician with the State of Ohio and have worked in multiple clinics, including Metropolitan Emergency Hospital. I did an externship at Akron Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center as well. I would recommend either of these facilities any time. These two hospitals are rivals, and each other's biggest competition. However, they are both capable and well respected hospitals in the field. It is worth the drive. The pricing is high at any ER, pick your poison. Just don't waste your time with Stark, not worth it at all. These two personal experiences are just the tip of the iceberg. I have not heard many good things about this clinic, and this hospital is a running joke among many of my colleagues. The judgment and lack of professionalism that I have seen supports what I have heard.

They moved from Fulton Rd, I wonder if it was an attempt to try and get a fresh image. Wouldn't be surprised. Wish I could give zero stars!

His name was Henry

Stark County Vet Emergeny Clinic...Notice how it says EMERGENCY in the name. I had a very sick puppy who was throwing up blood. They refused to see him without payment up front. They accept paper checks to hold for two weeks but refused to hold my check card info in the same way. I had to sit in my car with my puppy throwing up BLOOD for two hours as I tried to find someone who could give them their credit card information over the phone. Over $70 to just walk in the door, another $70 for a test and $75 to hold him as they put him to sleep BECAUSE I couldn't give them $1500 in FULL at midnight to try and save his life. Oh yeah their business cards say they love pets. It should say they love money. I"ve never experienced so much greed in my life. All because they would only hold a paper check and not a check card info..if you aren't rich and its after hours in Stark county our animals are going to die. He was only 7 weeks old hadn't even had a chance to live yet. A link to his phone is below:
