Located in Canton, Ohio, Domestic Violence Project is a private, nonprofit organization that provides safe shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, prevention and educational services for individuals. Established in 1978, the organization operates the Canton Family Services Center, Western Stark Emergency Housing, and Canton and Massillon Municipal Courts. It supports substance abuse prevention and violence prevention programs at more than 10 locations in Stark County, Ohio. The organization offers housing services on a 24-hour daily basis for victims of domestic violence and their children. Domestic Violence Project also operates a renew counseling and recovery center that offers assessments, individual, group and family therapies, intensive outpatient treatment and support groups. In addition, the organization provides legal advocacy support and community education services.
