I have been a customer of IKEA since 1991. I shopped in the USA, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, and Taiwan IKEA shops. I like to see new ideas buy them and apply them to my life. I had several times problems with employees. They need more training and to feel themselves a member of IKEA. I build with IKEA furniture at least more than 40 houses and offices. I like IKEA so much.

Ikea is fun.

Bring your walking shoes. You never know what you will find at Ikea. But you have to do a lot of walking to find whatever it is.
No real easy way in and out but surprises always await. The food isn't to bad either.

We purchased a Brimnes bed on November 7 -- the hardware was missing. I called and was told the hardware would be sent from the Canton store and would be delivered in 3 to 5 days. The reference number assigned is 32554573. We called again after 7 days and was told the Canton store would be e-mailing me a tracking number and would expedite the delivery. Still waiting for that. And it is now November 24. I know you sold a lot of these beds and I am wondering how many other customers got beds with no hardware.
It takes a long time to get through to your service department, but not as long as it will take me if I have to drive across the state to return this product. So please give me what I paid for.

Ikea overall is good place but avoid this place .I have bought over $6000 of items from them and they forgot to ship one item ($50 value) I called the customer service in 74 hours and because it was after 48 hours , they told me i have to go directly to the store and I can pick up my item ,I went there and they told me you had only 48 hours to notify them and they item is back on the shelf but they could not honor call center representative words ,How can they put someone else item who paid for it on the shelf to sell?

The manager was Elizabeth and she was unprofessional.I will never go to this local IKEA store.Sears have better customer service than Ikea .

Worst company ever! Spent 25minutes on hold waiting for customer service to answer the phone! I'm 3 hours away and wanted to purchase 2 $700 sleepers that only have 3 left in stock. Would not hold them, would not allow me to purchase over the phone- she kept saying 1st come 1st serve! That's customer service for you! I'll go spend my $1,500 elsewhere! Horrible! Should be a less than 1 star!

7 days ago we bought 2 bookcases and a tv stand (order # 155375432) and paid $100 extra to have them delivered on the next day. That day, the delivery window was from 11AM until 3PM. The delivery was 6 hours late and at 9PM a rental truck with 2 disheveled workers showed up and the TV stand was badly damaged. I noted this on their form and they refused to give me a copy (so I took a photo of it). They told me to call ikea on monday. I called ikea immediately and was given the reference number of 17768321.



I was told if no one called me back i should try calling in again on tuesday. no one called. i called back on tuesday (waited over 25 minutes on hold) and was told there was nothing that could be done id have to wait for another call back and if i dont recevie one i should try calling in again. i complained and was told they could set up a swap delivery date but no time. they gave me the date of thursday, but no one will be home beforte 7pm as we both work. i was told no time frame was specified. i asked for a refund on the $100 delivery fee i paid 6 days ago for something i still dont have. i was told they could submit it but i probably wont get it and if i dont get a call back i should try calling in again.



i was told at that time that ikea is very busy right now, and is always busy between september and the end of the year. (good to know that i should NOT shop at ikea durring those months) i was alos told that the volume of damaged deliveries was so high that it could take over 5 days to even be reviewed.



if you have so many issues with deliveries, use another delivery company, this should be transparrent ot your (now former) customer.



if you are too busy to treat customers with respect and call them back or maybe, just maybe, even solve an issue on the initial call, then perhaps you need to rethink your business model.

UPDATE: so ikea scheduled a swap out for thursday night. i told them no one will be home before 7pm. they said ok. thursday

morning i get a call from jw logistics saying theyll deliver it between 11 and 3pm. i said no one will be home before 7pm.

he said ok he will tell the driver. at 4pm the driver calls and says hes down the street on his way. i said no one will be home before 7pm. he said ok. he hung up. he called back 10 minutes later to tell me that he wont deliver it tonight because he has no other deliveries to make and it would be inconvient for him. he said hell bring it by tomorrow and hung up.

i called ikea and was told the store manager of canton would call me in 30 minutes with an answer to all this. if not, heres a direct line for me to call with an extention number. no one called me. i called the direct line and extention number, no one answered and it went to hold. after 18 minutes a recording came on that said this dept was now closed.

. i got a shift/sales manager who said hed have the other guy call me. then the other guy called my wifes cell phone instead of mine. then he called me. nothing he could do, sorry. no offer for refunds or credits, nothing. i then said ok, i will pay a neighbor to help me haul this thing, rent a truck to do it, and drive the 40 minutes one way to return the thing myself tonight. he then said they were closing at 7 ( by this time it was 6:30). he said the best he could do is ask nicely for the delivery guy to deliver it between 2 and 6 pm. i told him i wont be home until after 7pm. he said ok. then silence. i said hello, are you still there. yes. so, will it arrive after 7pm? i dont know ill have to call you back. that was at 6:30pm thursday. he never called back. it is now 10pm thursday.

i will be renting a truck in the morning, paying the neighbor to haul it, take the 2nd day off work for this, and i will be having a discussion with this fellow tomorrow at the canton store.

terrible service. terrible phone manners. terrible delivery service. terrible scheduling.

these are terrible people, terrible products and terrible terrible service.

Great store! I love to make a...

Great store! I love to make a day trip down there to shop/browse.. and have lunch there as well. They have really unique/awesome items... not the best quality (the prices aren't high at the same time), but great for a starter home, condo/apartment, or dorm.

It use to be my favorite store

I ordered a kitchen from them, based on the info I got for delivery time I scheduled a contractor a week before to install it, now it's been 11 days and no kitchen yet.

You call for complaint, customer service tells you leave a number a manager will call you , ""no one does they ignor you"", you asked them to cancel the order, they reply NO PROBLEM they dont care they dont need you business.

Their customer service sucks, their delivery time sucks

If you planning on purchasing a kitchin I hope you have better luck then me.

Stan is unaware the store closes at 9pm so he should probably think to call during the hours they are open. I've had nothing but good experiences and customer service was very great.

BEST STORE EVER

IKEA is a great place to shop they have EVERTHING including a snack bar with the best cinnamon buns on the 1st floor and a restaurant on the 2nd floor with yummy french fries.The only bad thing is that which ever way you go in from and travel around in the store you have to remember your path because you have to take the same path out that's really confusing plus they also have a really good staff and everything else

Business Department was so helpful

I went to IKEA to look for furniture for my business. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have an IKEA Business departement that could do all of the ordering for me. I made an appointment with them and their friendly staff members made everything so easy for me. I needed a ton of furniture and we were able to cordinate everything over the phone. It was so stress free and I would highly recomend thier services to anyone who needs to make a large purchase.

Generally poor customer service. No one answers the phone at 9:15pm, when I'm trying to assemble what I purchased at 8:45pm. One would think they'd have a central help desk that would provide support during hours when people are actually building their stuff.Next day, I tried calling, and got a "number not working" message from the phone company. Naturally, these things can happen, I suppose.So, I tried emailing. I needed to know what size hole to drill in a kitchen cabinet to accommodate the IKEA rollout basket. No, that bit of simple information was NOT included in the directions. I got an unresponsive email back, telling me to call the store. The email didn't include either the store's phone number or the support person's phone number. The message here is that they don't want to talk to me, eh?Cheap products, they've got, yes. Customer service? pray you don't need it!
