Mendocino Redwood Company was created in July 1998 with a long-term investment by the Fisher family of San Francisco and their partners. The company owns approximately 350 square miles of forestland spanning across more than 75 Northern California coastal watersheds with 1500 miles of year-round streams. Mendocino Redwood Company s stated purpose is to restore industrial forestlands as a part of a viable business plan. The company s specific objectives include measurable improvements in aquatic and upslope habitat, old growth protection, clean water and producing a long-term sustainable timber supplies. Mendocino Redwood Company is owned and controlled by an affiliate of Sansome Partners (a private San Francisco-based investment firm specializing in long-term investments).
