We are fully staffed to help YOU with any issues you might have with your pet. We work extremely hard to educate our clients about flea and tick management, Heartworm prevention and provide a variety of preventive medications to keep their pets safe. We are an in house pharmacy and maintain a wide variety of prescription diet pet foods for cats and dogs. Calera Animal Hospital treats your pet like they are a part of our family.

I live in Hoover and drove to Calera to use this clinic. Very professional staff; doctor asked a lot of questions and spent a lot of time with my dog. When I picked up, my dog wasn't stressed and she was ready to go on time. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Will be using them in the future!
I really like this place. I have been in there numerous of times when the lobby is filled with people. Everytime they help me, they have treated me with respect and a caring attitude. You can tell when someone loves their job. My dog loves the treats after vaccination. I would recommend this place to everyone.

What a wonderful, caring and religious vet Dr. ELLISON is. Without her I would have lost a few horses and a dog. She has always been there, day or night, hot or cold.She has come out even when she was sick herself. Her dedication to her clients is over the top. So thanks for being there for me and my animals for 12 years. We love you.

This is an exceptional hospital. I really enjoy their new class four laser machine, for it works! I have seen my dog's ears respond well to this new therapy! Thank you for keeping current with your medicine.

I decided to use Dr. Ellison due to a costly heartworm treatment for my dog. I usually used another local vet in the area, but due to price decided to try Dr. E... I was told on the phone the cost before boarding was $410 at the time I picked up my animal the price had jumped to $490. I ended up having to call the police to get my pet released. She lied and said that they didn't quote me a price of $410 on the phone or at the time of drop off (which they did). Now ask yourself a question if im not a vet how did I know the rate sheet for a 126lbs dog was $410? hmmm I was right. Take my advice please don't use this vet. If you don't believe me call and get a price quote on the 126lbs dog for heartworm treatment, if im telling the truth then you know to stay away for yourselves. I just don't want to see anyone else taken advantage of like this. I mean you have to pay they have your animal right?
