Calais Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), which is located in Calais, Maine, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults of all genders who are struggling with opioid addiction. MAT combines medication and counseling to help individuals achieve lasting recovery from an addiction to prescription painkillers, heroin, or other opioids. At Calais CTC, MAT services begin with a personalized treatment plan that is designed around each patient’s strengths and goals. This plan may consist of individual and group counseling along with a prescription for Suboxone or methadone, both of which have proved to be effective in improving long-term recovery outcomes when taken as directed.
