Great Employee, Owner lacks In...

Great Employee, Owner lacks Integrity & Customer Service Relations -

We rented a pontoon from EZ Boat Rental for two days, & their "Camper's Special" for one night. This "Special" was not clearly explained by phone, and was an over priced pontoon barge with canvas tent enclosure, no bedding supplied for $100/night - that in itself made it a rip-off compared to area housing rentals. It was moored at the rental dock, so, NO PRIVACY, despite Owner's promise to have it moored elsewhere.

The employee - Sammi, was wonderful & went above & beyond in doing what little she could to make us comfortable. The daytime pontoon worked well.

During the night, it rained, which was expected.

However, the pontoon tent cover leaked, profusely; drenching us & our bed. We know what camping is, being damp in a tent is one thing. A waterfall onto both sides of the bed, and steady drip in the center is another! We later learned that Mark Roland, the owner, KNEW that the pontoon cover leaks & rented it without telling us this, among other things. He omitted pertinent information in order to make a "sale" - in fact, he by not communicating clearly, he gave the impression that we were renting a houseboat.

He refused to give even a partial refund stating his policy of no refunds due to in-climate weather (which makes sense for pontoon rentals but when renting a shelter to sleep in, one expects to stay dry, barring wind/tornadic activity which damages said shelter, which was NOT the case here). When I suggested that his employee deserved a bonus for her service, he sarcastically suggested we send that to her. Overall, He was rude, sarcastic, had a clear lack of integrity, made excuses for himself & hung up on me.

VERY Disappointing!! We will not be doing business with this man or his establishment again!
