      Ames Construction was founded in 1960 in Burnsville, Minn. The company is a heavy civil and industrial design-build general contractor and serves clients in many industries. Ames Construction builds airports, bridges, highways, railroad lines, power plants, water treatment plants, dams, commercial sites and golf courses. The company has expertise in mine development, mine facility construction and contract mining. Ames crews are experienced in moving earth and rock, blasting and processing aggregates, site preparation for commercial properties, building and equipping industrial plants, installing underground and above-ground mechanical and process piping, flood control, environmental site remediation, reclamation and landfill work. The company has its headquarters in Burnsville and regional offices in Aurora, Colo., Phoenix and West Valley City, Utah.
