- General Info
- The Textile Heritage Museum is a unique museum complex situated in one of the most well preserved textile mill villages in the southern United States. We preserve and share the early textile heritage of Alamance County and North Carolina. Located in the 6,000 square foot historic company store and management offices is a vast collection of textile machinery, store goods, military uniforms, office equipment of the 19th and early 20th century, and other related artifacts. Across the street visitors can walk into the supervisor house to experience a mill home. There is a museum gift shop to purchase collectibles, books, t-shirts, children's early American toys, handcrafted items. Outside the museum is the entire Glencoe mill complex and village homes highlighted with interpretive markers throughout the village for visitors to learn more about life in Glencoe. This 1880's textile mill community located along the Haw River is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Textile Heritage Museum is a unique museum complex situated in one of the most well preserved textile mill villages in the southern United States.
