Hugh M. Cummings High School teaches a variety of subjects, such as English, science, art, foreign languages, business, math and social studies. In addition, it offers courses in dance, band, orchestra, graphics and drafting. The school has a staff of more than 90 full-time certified teachers, including a nurse, social worker, counselor, English and college coach, financial secretary, intervention specialist, physical education and athletic director, speech therapist and psychologist. It has a career center that assists students in college and future career planning and provides information about scholarship applications, college entrance requirements and armed services. The school offers a variety of athletic activities, including cross country, basketball, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, badminton, and track and field.
