The company s power plant technology utilizes small, flat mirrors which track the sun with high precision and reflect the sun s heat to a tower-mounted receiver, which boils water to create steam to produce solar electricity. It has partnered with NRG Energy Inc., The ACME Group, Penglai Electric and Ferrostaal AG. The company s major customers include Southern California Edison and Sundrop Fuels. In 2010, Renewable Energy World awarded eSolar Inc. Excellence in Renewable Energy Award.
