Basically, the muscles and/or nerves of the upper extremity become inflamed due repetitive tasks, forceful exertions, vibrations, mechanical compressions, or sustained or awkward positions. The most common cumulative trauma injuries are carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger/thumb, intersection syndrome, golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis), and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).
