Drove in from San Antonio, saw the positive reviews so decided to give it a shot. Did not disappoint. Get the chicken fried steak and sweet potato pie for sure. Try the homemade pies as well. Mississippi mud is delicious.

NOTE: this is the Restaurant that used to be at the corner of 21 and Texas Ave. Same good food!

If you are over 55 there is a Senior Price that makes the trip worthwhile. We live out of town and always stop to get the delicious chicken fried steak or fried catfish. The portions are just right for us and at the price it cannot be BEAT!! Country atmosphere and busy at lunch since it is close to the City offices!

The best decision I ever made!

I will have to say this restaurant has the best steak I have ever had. The outside of the building doesn't look like much but the inside was very clean and homey. The tables are wooden and so are the chairs. The inside looks like a old country restaurant. The ceilings had brands on them and also logos. The bar near the register was unique also because before they were finished putting the thick coating on it the places pennies to arrange words. The sweet tea was wondering. The only thing that was disappointing was they only serviced beer and wine. The atmosphere was friendly and lively. I saw the potions of other dishes besides the steaks and they also look huge. I will sure to stop by and have dinner there again.
