Christopher J. Centeno, M.D. is an international expert and specialist in regenerative medicine and the clinical use of mesenchymal stem cells in orthopedics. He is board certified in physical medicine as well as rehabilitation and in pain management through The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Centeno is one of the few physicians in the world with extensive experience in the culture expansion of and clinical use of adult stem cells to treat orthopedic injuries. His clinic incorporates a variety of revolutionary pain management techniques to bring its broad patient base relief and results. Dr. Centeno treats patients from all over the US who travel to Colorado to under-go innovative, non-surgical treatments. Dr. Centeno has chaired multiple international research based conferences. He also maintains an active research based practice, with multiple publications listed in the US National Library of Medicine. Dr. Centeno has also served as editor-in-chief of a medical research journal dedicated to traumatic injury. Dr. Centeno trained at the Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Medical Center and the Institute for Rehabilitation Research. He hails from both Florida and New York and currently resides in Boulder, Colorado with his wife and three children.

Knowledgeable, thorough exam and treatment

Excellent up front consultation, positive office experience and great follow up.
Very straight forward for initial consultation to what is now 3 weeks post-procedure. I had both the left Rotator Cuff and Right MCL done at the same time, and though the first night after the Stem-Cell injections was painful, after 24 hours it could be controlled with Tylenol. I am now back in the gym working with decreased weights and high repetitions with no pain. 3 weeks after my right rotator cuff surgery almost 20 years ago at 3 weeks I was still sitting in a recliner with a circulating is bath for swelling. Great experience.

Dr Centeno is the absolute leader in his field and it's easy to see why. He has a real commitment to his patients and was very thorough and professional. His staff was kind, knowledgeable, and we'll organized.
This was a very comfortable procedure. It started with my connection with Karla and having her answer all the questions I sent her. Then speaking with Dr Centeno and him giving me hope in this procedure. With my research all of the videos and website I felt very confident in coming to Colorado for the procedure. Then getting there I was greeted by an attentive staff and met Karla who answered any question I gave her. The meet with Dr Centeno was wonderful also as he spent time with us, answered more questions and looked closely at my shoulder problems. The entire procedure was very comfortable and efficient. Not waiting hours and hours when I already knew I had a long day was fantastic. The staff made me very comfortable for the marrow extraction and again at the Stem cell injections. Pain was surprisingly not terrible. I had a rough 4 days of sleep but after that it's been increasingly better day after day. I'm just over a week into this recovery and I feel wonderful.
