Mid-State Landscaping is the company which maintains the "maintenance-free" properties of Southern Hills in Brooksville, Florida. We originally bought our home in this beautiful development specifically for the maintenance-free advantage. Mid-State is supposed to handle all aspects of our property management - from mowing to weeding and fertilizing. The result has been a horrific disaster!! This company does a terrible job at mowing the grass. weeding (generally non-existant) and does not maintain the trees and bushes that we spent so much on when we moved here. When we call to complain - or to ask for additional service - our phone calls are not returned. On the one occasion where they accidentally answered the phone, I was treated rudely. We feel TRAPPED by the poor quality of this company!! My advice to prospective owners of the maintenance-free properties here would be to specifically put into your contract that you have the option to opt out of the landscaping services (at
