- Tree RemovalAlthough we are not fond of removing trees unless it is truly necessary, we are unusually good at difficult removals in tight spaces. As an urban company, we are all too familiar with large dying or dead ailanthus trees, locusts or silver maples located in tiny backyards surrounded with windows, with fine gardens, with prize plants, and with fishponds. We pride ourselves on our ability to extricate such very large and dangerous trees while doing no damage to the fine surroundings.
- Storm Damage CleanupWe have now sometimes taken care of blocks or neighborhoods for a decade or more. It is often striking to see the difference between blocks where we manage trees and adjacent blocks. The trees are healthier and more beautiful, not only as individuals but as a group. Our emergency response team has often made the difference between keeping and losing a tree, especially when accidents or storm damage occur.

- Tree Pruning and TrimmingGovernor Cuomo has set May 15th as the date for next review of the shelter in place order. We will continue to review our protocols daily and adapt them to allow us to safely do whatever work is permitted. We will be on the lookout for any changes and will notify you immediately as they occur. Many of our nurseries have performed root pruning on plants we had scheduled for planting, so they will be in the best possible condition to be dug, when it again becomes possible to plant.
- Tree MaintenanceWe care about hands-on tree care and planting. They are our passion. We never stop learning how to make our work better.
- Tree Cabling and BracingCables and braces in trees can help to prevent failures of weak or very large branches or leaders in wind and storm. Urban Arborists knows which cable to use in which conditions and on which trees. We also know when cabling is not a good idea at all.
- Arborist ServicesFrom March through May and from October through December, we plant at every scale, from a single backyard specimen, to a whole garden of woody plants, to a street allee of half a dozen trees, to plantings of hundreds of trees meant to reduce Urban Heat Island Effect. Urban Arborists has been instrumental in the effort to replace trees lost to the Asian Longhorn Beetle.
