Souda is a Brooklyn-based manufacturer of modern furniture, lighting, and home decor. The name Souda, loosely translates to mean “Oh yeah!” in Japanese. It’s a fitting moniker for a company who’s products are strikingly new, yet immediately at home in residential and commercial environments alike. Since debuting its first collection in January of 2013 the young company has begun to establish itself as an up and coming force in the world of contemporary design. Enlisting the help of a growing roster of young furniture and lighting designers, Souda manufactures products that seamlessly marry handmade and industrial techniques. The collection can be found in a growing number of international showrooms and retailers. Honors include the 2014 International Contemporary Furniture Fair ‘Best New Designer’ award, a 2014 NY Design Award for the Strut Shelving System, and features in dozens of publications including Dwell, Wallpaper Magazine, Metropolis and the New York Times.
