General Info
Brandon Swed, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. His clinical interest is in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies. His research is focused on novel therapeutics and drug development for pancreatic cancer. Dr. Swed received his B.S. in Neuroscience and Chemistry from the University of Miami. He earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where he was the recipient of the Weinberger Award for distinction in Hematology and Medical Oncology and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he led several quality improvement initiatives as part of the Healthcare Leadership in Quality program. He continued his medical training at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, where he completed his clinical fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology, having served as chief fellow during his final year. Dr. Swed cares for patients with a broad array of hematologic and oncologic diseases, with a particular focus on treating patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. He has also been involved in several translational and clinical research projects focused on novel therapies for pancreatic cancer and was selected to participate in the 2021 AACR-ASCO Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop to further develop this work.
