Additionally. NYIHB plan to become a major data contributor to the NEW york state office of alcoholism and substance abuse service (OASAS). NEW york state office of mental health (OMH) and substance abuse mental health service administration (SAMHSA). This will ensure that NYIHB remains a candidate for ongoing funding and educational support from both the NEW york state and federal government regulatory agencies. Training services NYIHB is currently authorized and approved by OASAS to teach the initial educational requirements of 350 education course hours to credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors trainees (CASAC T). This authorization includes the approval to teach OASAS approved renewal courses to assist fully qualified CASAC’S to maintain their existing certifications. Currently. NYIHB’S COO is seeking approval from the american council on education (ACE) to GET the 350 education hours certified to receive college credit status. When approved by ACE the 350 education hours will become college credits that CAN BE used by CASAC T candidates to pursue associates and Bachelor’s degrees AT 1500 colleges and universities throughout america.
