Established in 1984, Hans M. Andersen Elementary School is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It provides Character Counts and English language Learners program and operates a student council, safety patrol and chess club. The school also operates a parent-teacher association that offers a range of support services to improve the education and well-being of students. Hans M. Andersen Elementary School maintains a library and provides an accelerated reader program. The school also has a computer laboratory. Hans M. Andersen Elementary School is governed by Union Public Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
