Bristow Urgent Care received a 1 star only because 0 was not an option. I can honestly say I have NEVER experienced such unprofessional behavior by a receptionist in my life.

I received a referral from my insurance, TriCare, to use this urgent facility due to the state of emergency w weather and the closing of military medical facilities. Mr. Young Receptionist was rude from the very beginning. The center did not receive the faxed authorization from my insurance and I offered to call Tricare Prime for verbal authorization (even though I had an authorization number). Mr. Young Receptionist REFUSED to call, stated it was against policy to call insurance companies.

Please note that I too, am a TriCare Prime Provider; Providers frequently call TriCare for confirmation and approval codes. So, Mr. Young Receptionist was incorrect.

I called TriCare while in the urgent care office for advise. The TriCare rep wanted to speak with Mr. Young Receptionist, in which Mr. Young Receptionist refused stating he was "very busy" (in fact, he appeared more upset because they were to close early and I was an inconvenience). I placed the Tricare Rep on Speaker phone to help out Mt. Young Receptionist.

Mr. Young Receptionist proceeded to inform the Tricare Rep they were wrong, he stated there are no exception to policies and he would not talk to them (Hello?! He was...).

FYI, Tricare issued email letters to all providers stating exceptions to policies based on state of emergencies. Additionally, Mr. Young Receptionist did not even know his facility was an authorized in-network provider (go employee education!!).

Really? What else would prompt me to darken Bristow Urgent Care's door w such poor reviews?

So- Mr. Young Receptionist refused treatment, refused consultation w the insurance company, refused to disclose his name, refused to disclose the attending physician's name, refused to allow me to consult w the physician, was condescending, rude, belligerent, lacking compassion, unprofessional, uneducated on regarding his employment resources and hmmm, yes, that sums it up. Mr. Young Receptionist is a TRUE asset to this stellar medical facility.

I truly understand if medication management exceeds a medical facility's level of competence, good to know not to expect medical care from an urgent care center.

I will end this rant by stating that I am a Doctor, a Licensed Mental Health Clinician, paneled by a plethora of insurance companies. We have lived all over the world and seen a lot of things- this is a first. Mr. Young Receptionist's behavior was outrageous, unacceptable, unprofessional, unethical and we will soon determine the legalities. Consider yourself educated based on my personal experience.

Been to there facility and found exemplary professionalism. They accpet most insurance plans and provide lab services as well. Plus, they have a cool website that delivers precise information about the facility and their operations.
