I also find the staff at this library to be unfriendly. They are not welcoming when i come up to the counter, and sometimes I feel like i am really putting them out.

I must confess that although I live in Bristol. the Farmington library is my choice. I can curl up in front of a working fireplace and read or chat. I also can make a hot cup of tea, chocolate or coffee at any given time.the Bristol library is lacking..mainly room! the book selection is poor..and the staff..not looking like happy campers..the location is questionable and would not recommend walking there at night. I am comparing this library to the Farmington branch. at the Farmington ,I am able to check out books on my own which is great and its just inviting and a blessing. as a Bristol resident ,I am able to enjoy a superior library..Bristol library is as the town..a need of a overhaul..top to bottom. the public computers are jammed in together like a computer class and i've had the librarian roll the eyes when requesting computer info...Bristol has a clean restroom facility and the patrons are quiet...a nice remark is that the Bristol library is tops next to the new britian lib.
