Booked a vacation rental w/ agency for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration, 45 days before the event. Because the timeframe was short, I was required to pay the full amount at the time I made the reservation and the deposit portion had to be paid w/ a cashier's ck. I received an email receipt and was told I would receive address, directions, & key info to enter the home, one week prior to our reservation. Six days prior to the event, I had heard nothing. I called, emailed & left several messages for someone to contact me. I'll I could reach was a voice message stating the office was closed for the Holidays (it was Christmas) & someone would return my call the following Saturday. We were scheduled to be there Friday. When I finally received a call, it was to late. While they refunded my deposit, they refused to refund the almost $700 in rental fees I'd paid, citing their 'cancellation policy.' I had to file a dispute w/ my credit card co. to get my money back.
