Went in to look for a holster for my P229. I found one, and took it up to the counter to ask about a price. The conversation went as follows:

Me: "Can you tell me the price on this?"
Worker: "It says it on the shelf."
Me: "I didn't see any prices displayed."
Worker: "They are behind the product on a tag on the hanger."
Me: "I didn't think to look behind all the packages for a price."

He stares at me like I'm stupid and I just stand there waiting for a few seconds.

Me: "So can you tell me the price?"

He sighs heavily, takes the package and walks over to his computer, scans it and says "Forty Nine Ninety Five. Fifty Buck." to which I reply "Oh."

I had purchased the same style and brand holster for another gun at Cabela's for $30, so I asked "Are you negotiable at all on prices or are they set in stone?"

Him: "Yeah."
Me: "Yeah your negotiable?"
Him: "You don't go in Walmart and ask them to take $2 for a package of diapers they have listed at $9 do you?"
Me: "No, but if I know target down the road has them for $5 I'll ask walmart to price match."
Him: "No you don't."
Me: "Yeah, I do because they have a price match policy."
Him: "Oh, well I wouldn't know, I don't shop at Walmart."
Me: "Then why bring it up?"
Him: "To prove a point."

I start walking towards the door.

Me: "All you proved is not only do you have prices nearly double that of your competitors, but you also have zero customer service."
Him: "You can leave now."

I walked out the door and will never return. I've been in their sister store in Belleville, IL to shoot at the range and they were just as rude. I don't know what it is with this group, but they are the types that give "gun people" a bad name.

If you wan't a good range, Sharpshooters STL is awesome and actually has ventilation. If you need a firearm or accessory, try Cabala's, Bass Pro, or really any other shop in the St. Louis area.

As woman and a first time gun purchaser, I spent countless hours online and going to several locations to check out prices for what I wanted. I've shot all kinds of guns before, but I've never owned one. I decided to stop in at Metro Shooting in Bridgeton. I was hesitant going there based on some of the negative reviews I had read online, but I finally just went. Surprisingly, there was only one other customer (I made sure I went on a weekday in the early afternoon). I was instantly greeted by Steve King. We immediately hit it off and started looking at guns. He was super-nice and informative. I know the prices are a little higher than some other places, but I felt comfortable there and had a great rapport with Steve and so I purchased a gun. I spent a lot more than I really wanted to spend (I'm frugal by nature), but I believe my life and personal safety doesn't have a price tag and dropping $500+ for self/home protection is worth it. I didn't go in with an attitude. I went in with a mission and a smile on my face and I was greeted by a friendly, well informed person. Be informed before you go in. There is plenty of technology out there for people to look into what they need/want. If you go in acting stupid or with an attitude, then you're setting yourself up for sarcasm. These guys are in the business to sell guns. They aren't selling kittens and bubblegum. Guns are serious, so these guys need to be serious too. Who wants to deal with knuckleheads? I was treated great and I got what I needed and I am very glad I stopped in. Don't believe all the negative reviews. Go in and see for yourself. They are serious, professional people, especially Steve. They definitely are top-notch in my book.

At first I liked this place a lot, but then I have changed my mind. I feel that being a first time buyer,I was tricked into buying a pistol that was way to big for my frame to CC with the plan that I would be back to purchase a smaller weapon. OK no big deal I guess I should of researched a little more.

Now I was in the market to buy a rifle, {not even a month later)I work hard for my money and wanted to find the best price , so of course I called a few shops found a good price and then called metro... Their price was exactly $100 more for the same item, but i get a $200 membership for free I was told, not really, not when the prices are jacked up.. I mentioned the price at the other store and was told flat out ( well buy it from them then).

They didn't care to ask how much, offer a little bit off on the price , I was just told basically go else where if i don't like their price. That's not the way to do business IMO .

All and all I have a membership that's good for another 11 months and I will never ever step a foot in their doors again, in addition I will also stoop to their level and bad mouth them any chance I get, and recommend the most friendly/helpful shop in st Charles to everyone I know..

Side note I'm now on my 3rd weapon two of which could of been bought through metro, totaling $1200 in sales that they lost over $100.

Prices are a little on the high side but when buying a gun you get a free 1 year membership.Place is clean and range is nice but they need to have a broom and dust pan for clean up after shooting.I would rate this one of the best places in St.Louis county
