General Info

About Watershed Properties Watershed Properties is a small collective of realtors dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the Western North Carolina mountains. A portion of each sale benefits environmental organizations of our clients' choosing. Each agent for the Company owns a home in Sherwood Forest ( Brevard, NC ) and has learned to appreciate the natural beauty of the forest and the way the inhabitants have managed to incorporate their homes within this natural environment with a minimum of disruption to the "look and feel" of the forest. Each home sold by Watershed Properties generates a donation to one of the many volunteer committees which manage the activities of Sherwood Forest and work toward increased residents' awareness of the beauty of the Forest. Mary Beth Wallace is the broker of Watershed Properties, LLC. Having spent 9 years teaching English Literature at Jacksonville Univ. and Georgia Tech, she then decided to pursue a career in the burgeoning real estate market in Atlanta. Another Watershed agent, Diana Refsland, combined forces with Mary Beth during the early 80s and went on to form Atlanta Intown Real Estate Services in 1996, a firm with over 40 agents in Midtown Atlanta. Diana, formerly a tenured Sociology Professor at Spellman College in Atlanta completed her graduate work in Nashville, Tenn. For more than 20 years, Diana and Mary Beth have been committed to Atlanta's preservation and growth, working actively in their profession and community. They have received awards for historic preservation from the Urban Design Commission and they are recognized for their service to preserve Piedmont Park and intown neighborhoods. They both own homes in Sherwood Forest, each serving on the Green Area committee. Diana is also a member of the Architectural Review Commitee and is Chair of the Green Area Committee. Diana has her primary license in Georgia but is also licensed in North Carolina. Dixie Card, former English and Drama teacher in the Atlanta area also works with Watershed Properties. She too joined the Atlanta real estate world over 15 years ago, along with Sallye Parsons, a former Shell Oil marketing executive. Dixie and Sallye were both drawn to the western Carolina mountains and each have homes in Sherwood Forest. These agents provide over 60 years of active service in the field of real estate. They are committed to balance between development in Western North Carolina and the natural environment. They have vast experience in residential and commercial real estate sales and development, representing buyers, sellers and developers. Their knowledge, vision and energy guide their clients through an enjoyable and successful real estate experience.
