Otis is one of the world's largest manufacturers and maintainers of people-moving products, such as elevators, escalators and moving walkways. The company employs more than 60,000 people, provides products and services in nearly 200 countries and territories and maintains more than 1.5 million elevators and escalators worldwide. It has installed elevators in more than 10 of the world s 20 tallest building. The company also installed and maintains two of the tallest elevator test towers in the world. These include a tower in Shibayama, Japan, that is more than 500 feet above ground and nearly 90 feet below ground and an elevator in Bristol, Conn., that is nearly 400 feet above ground.
