The YWCA of Kitsap County

General Info
The YWCA of Kitsap County is dedicated to ensuring the personal safety, rights, welfare, and dignity of those who experience domestic abuse while building partnerships and increasing community awareness to create positive social change.to over come obstacles. Since 1948, the YWCA has provided programs and services aimed towards enriching lives, providing hope, supporting empowerment, and helping families to over come obstacles. Our effectiveness is directly attributed to the many volunteers and supporters who join us in serving our community. Domestic Violence is a community problem, affecting all of our lives. Domestic Violence is progressive, cyclical, and generative in nature. Domestic Violence knows no economic, ethnic, or social boundaries. Children are often the hidden victims. Without effective prevention and intervention, patterns of family violence can escalate in frequency and severity. It is the responsibility of the YWCA of Kitsap County to join with others in working towards a coordinated response to domestic violence. The YWCA of Kitsap County encourages you to join us in working towards our goals through membership, volunteering, serving on sub-committees or as a member of the Board of Directors. The YWCA is an EOE, and further forbids discrimination against program participants and/or volunteers on the basis of sex, age, disability, race, creed, national origin, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital or family status. Services - All program and service sites are handicap accessible. If special provisions are needed, please call.
