Fairmount Elementary School provides a variety of educational and recreational programs to students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers classes in language arts, mathematics, science, health education and social studies. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,300 students. Fairmount Elementary School maintains a library that features over 30,000 books. Its bully prevention program teaches positive ways to resolve conflicts and prevents bullying incidents in the school. The school also conducts vocabulary building, math problem solving and writing classes. Fairmount Elementary School maintains a staff of over 40 teachers, as well as nurses. The school organizes various fundraising and volunteering programs. It is a part of the Highlands School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools in Pennsylvania.
