A Note About Our Pastor... The Rev. Ron Abbott brings to the pulpit more than 41 years of pastoral experience. He has pastored churches in Kansas, Maryland, Ohio and Texas. A 1971 graduate of Baptist College, Pastor Abbott is a respected leader within the Baptist Bible Fellowship. He served two terms as Chairman of the Maryland State Baptist Bible Fellowship and twice as Secretary/Treasurer for the East Texas Fellowship. He is currently serving as a field representative for the Amazon Region of Brazil. An active member of the community, Pastor Abbott has served as Chaplain of the Maryland State Police and the Chaplain of Police for the City of Vidor, Texas. While in his Ohio ministry, Pastor Abbott was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Middletown. He currently serves as a Chaplain for the Wise Regional Health System in Decatur and as Chaplain of the Montague County Sheriff's Department. His approach to ministry is pastoral with a strong emphasis on urging his flock to make Christ the Lord of their lives.
