The best vet ever!

I highly recommend Advanced Care Vet. Hospital. I have been going there for 6 years now, and I'm very happy and satisfied with the services my pets get there. The first time I went there was with my bearded dragon who was very sick... lethargic, not eating. I didn't know what was wrong. I come to find out that the care I was giving him was off and that was why he was so sick. (apparently the pet store just goes over the very beginning basics and really aren't the ones that specialize in the care of specific species.) But during the examination, Dr. Stuart went over all the care thoroughly... from the diet to my tank set up and the correct temperature, and etc. After a few weeks of medication and my making the necessary corrections with his care, I'm happy to say that my beardie got well and is thriving today :) thanks to Dr. Stuart. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable he was, and what a personable doctor he was. So I started bringing my 2 dogs there too. Every time I bring my pets in, I can always trust that Dr. Stuart takes the best care of them. And he thoroughly explains things to me. His staff is very friendly and welcoming. And the hospital is very clean and pleasant.

Best Vet I have been to in a long time

I first wish to thank the doctor and his wonderful staff there for all the great care that they have given to my pets over the years. Whenever I needed to bring one of my pets in I knew and know that they will receive the same care as a person would, bringing themselves into seeing a primary care physician. I am so thankful that Dr Stuart is there as he is so knowledgable and compassionate. I trust him and his staff completely. Although over the years I have seen a few staff members come and go, I think that this is just the way things are. His current staff is A plus and I would like to thank them for being the foundation that makes his place so wonderful. I have had many pets there over the years both my dogs and some of my guinea pigs would not have made it out of as many jams if it had not been for Dr. Stuart. He always treated every pet of mine as if they were little people and worth more than I paid for them. He always takes the time to go over things with me and I am sure that despited taking up a lot of his time his time I don't feel like I am being a burden to him or his staff. I as well as other clients are always treated respectfully and with a smile. It is hard these days to find someone you can really trust your pets with especially me who I consider them my children. They are truely part of my family. I decided to write this to let everyone know the kind of vet that they can trust is here in New Jersey and the staff too. He has done everything with my guinea pigs that most vets would only do on dogs and cats. His place does not smell like other vet clinics I have been to in the past and I don't get a run around with what is wrong, just for that he is worth the exam fee.

Great Hospital, Great Staff, Excellent Experience

Great Hospital, Great Staff, Excellent Experience. My Dog loves them!!! When I 1st came into New Jersey I Used to go to a different Vet. After having them almost kill my dog I looked for another place to take my dog. I called this hospital and was greeted pleasantly and had a laugh making my appointment. Upon entering the hospital I found it smelled great and was very clean, there were no smells of dog or cat urine like the other places I have been to. They were extremely nice, the staff. The Doctor, Doctor Stuart, was the best with my "Lily". At the first visit it was just for simple vaccines. She didn't even flinch with him drawing blood for the heartworm and lyme check. Thank God she was negative. We had so many ticks that year. He never need to use a muzzle. The other vet I went to always would stress her out and put a muzzle on her and then have one of their ruffian technicians as they called them over restrain her like she was a prisoner. I was and am very happy with the way she was and is handled here. They all have a soft touch and it puts Lily at ease. I brought Lily into the hospital for vomiting. After Xrays it appeared that Lily had eaten something she shouldn't have. Surgery was done and after she woke up I visited her and was given the sock that she ate. She was there for 2 days and was wagging her tail the whole time she was there. She came home better than new. I am so grateful that there are such caring individuals out there and Dr Stuart and his staff are among the best I have been around. Lily still likes to go there. At her suture removal she was wagging her tail from the waiting room back to my car. I could never see myself going anywhere else. The basket of goodies I gave them paled in what piece of mind they gave me.

Horrible

Let me just start off by saying that I have many animals (2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 rabbit, and 2 guinea pigs, 1 turtle, and have had many others in the past) I work at a horse stable, and am currently a senior at Uconn as an animal science major, hoping to advance to grad school or veterinarian school.I took my guinea pig here because he was sick and there was an opening the same day. He had lost a little weight and had diarrhea so i was getting concerned so i wanted him to be seen right away. The Dr. their told me that he had worms and that it could be cured with some medicine that I needed to give him orally. I was pleased to know that my little piggy would be okay! The Dr. also said that his teeth needed to be trimmed so I of course agreed because I wanted to do what was best for my pig. Then it came time to pay and the bill was $300, simply for trimming teeth and checking him for worms!A week later I noticed that my pig was not getting any better and i was giving him the correct medicine as I was told too, he was eating which he had always been but was losing weight due to the diarrhea. I called another vet (Glen Manor veterinarian hospital) because I was not paying $300 again for a simple visit that i know should never cost that much. A lot of people might brush it off and think well thats how much a vet costs but I knew that it was too much.I brought my piggy in the morning to the new vet and went to work to pick him up later. I got a phone call at work saying that my pig died within seconds of just being brought out of his cage, he had a convulsion and died. I of course was very upset because i was told the worms could be cured and i was not expecting to get a call that my pig had died. I came to find out that the worms were probably not the cause of death so i am left with a dead pet and no way of knowing how or why it died. The cost of an exam at Advance Care is $83, and at Glen manor vet hospital it was $35The one thing i do know is that i was told by the new vet that one of his teeth was "broken" and i explained that the other vet trimmed his teeth. The new doctor said, well it was not done correctly, and his tooth was broken. So i paid $300 to have my pig looked at and have his teeth broken, to then die unexplainable 1 week later.Overall, i would say take you animals to another place, not only so you are not completely poor by the end of your visit, but so that you animal is getting good quality care with its treatments. I would never bring any of my animals back here and i hope that when i am a vet, I am a lot better then this.

Excellent Experiences- Excellent Staff- Excellent Veterinarian- Best I've ever used

I can't rave enough over Dr. Stuart. I take 5 of my guinea pigs and my dog to him. He is one of the most knowledgeable vets I've been to. I have been to many vets in the past with my pets and I have yet to see someone as nice as he is. He is very attentive in the room, he never rushes me or any of his patients out of the room. Yes you do have to wait for a while if there is a sick pet before you, but isn't that what you would want to have done if your pet was sick. His staff is great, I can usually get in to see him right away and even get told to "just come down now" when they are really sick. I have lived in 2 other states and seen at least 6 other vets and by far he is the best at finding out what the problem is and how to fix it. His prices are always fair for what has to be done and others in his waiting room are saying the same as I am. I wish there was more vets out there like him. He is just the greatest

worst experience.

I would give this place 0 stars if it was an option. I noticed a very high staff turn over, poor quality of veterinary advice and it lacked a professional feel. I was not comfortable with this Vet handling my pets.
