- We are conveniently located on the Freedom Trail in the North End. Everyone is welcome to explore the Old North for a voluntary donation that supports the preservation of this historic site and our education programs. The Old North is not a publicly funded landmark, so we appreciate your generosity! Visitors are seated in the church’s box pews to hear a brief 5-7 minute presentation by our educators on the history of Old North highlighting the founding of the church, items of architectural interest, the lantern story, and the role of the Old North in the American Revolution. Go Behind the Scenes at the Old North! This 30 minute guided tour offers a more in-depth view of the Old North and its history while you explore two areas of the church only accessible on this tour: The Bell Ringing Chamber and The Crypt.

General Info
Christ Church in the City of Boston, also known as Old North Church, is the oldest standing church building in Boston, having first opened its doors to worshippers on December 29, 1723. Its 191 foot steeple is the tallest in Boston and, because of its prominence, would play a dramatic role in the American Revolution.
