HAIR DAMAGE...BE AWARE!!!
I saw Yasmeen Osman (sometimes goes by Yaz/ Jasmin) for a hair color after a Gilt City voucher. She gave me an attitude because I refused the baylage then told me that she would have to do some low lights along with the highlights in the rest of my hair to blend in the color. I thought she would just do a couple of low lights here and there.

After coloring, she did A LOT of low lights so my hair became so much darker with very light highlights (90s highlights) and there were some strange brown strands and the highlights were not even. It was also very streaky and blotchy and was totally unflattering.

She finally offered to correct it by adding a couple more highlights to brighten the color a little bit. After coloring it, I noticed that strands of my hair were almost gray and were breaking and falling off. Obviously, she colored some of the strands that were previously highlighted so I asked her to stop drying it and I asked to talk to the manager.

Avoid this unprofessional place!

As a luxury salon with premium pricing, Bradley Diegel neither values nor respects their clients. Beware of their imaginary unposted and subjective cancellation policy. In a nutshell I was 14 minutes late to a 3 hour appointment and was charged $150, when I was both willing to honor or reschedule the appointment. It's a situation we've all been in, an after work appointment, traffic, running a little late. What we haven't all experienced before is the unprofessional, rude and bad faith response I received from this salon. Avoid this place and go somewhere else on Newbury that will treat you like a valued client.



Full story:

I had an appointment for a highlight and cut for 5pm. I planned my entire day around this appointment, arranging to leave work early to make it in time. I work outside the city and unexpected traffic due to an accident meant I was running a little late. I was racing down Newbury street and was half a block away when i received a call at 514pm from BD stating my appointment for a highlight was cancelled. I apologized profusely and explained the situation and said I was literally about to enter their building. They explained that their policy was 15min, and that this was a posted and well known policy. They stated they could not accommodate the highlight anymore but would "waive the cancellation fee for the highlight" if I still showed for the cut at 630pm! I was surprised and pleaded that I was just outside and now only 20min late for what all we ladies know is a 3+ hour affair! They refused. I then asked if I could reschedule both as I did not want to come back twice, especially when just a highlight does not include a blow-dry. They flatly refused to accommodate that also, saying that would be a deemed cancellation of the entire appointment and they would charge me $150. I was referred to the manager who was also inflexible with respect to this "15 min policy". After an additional 20 minutes of me pleading from the streets outside the salon with their manager to just let me amicably end my relationship with their salon, he left it at I could dispute the $150 with my credit card company.



After the call I looked at their actual policy. There is nothing about 15 minutes and to the contrary they say they will do their best to accommodate clients running late. I was charged $150 for a 3 hour appointment commitment I was 15 minutes late to which I was both willing to honor AND willing to reschedule. I have been to several salons on Newbury street and have never been treated so rudely. I've spent hundreds of dollars with them, have always tipped well, and have referred two other clients to them. They chose to ignore those client relationships and goodwill over an imaginary 15 minute policy. I myself work in the services industry and we would never treat a client that way, Buyer beware, 15 minutes cost me $150 and a lot of wasted time with nothing to show for it. Their policy might be 5 or 10 minutes for you, who knows, there is certainly no clear policy or professionalism to be found here.

Great Salon! I go to Gabe for my color and Kathy for my haircuts. They are both amazing at what they do and extremely nice!
