Since 1978, Nielsen-Kellerman has been designing and manufacturing a line of waterproof electronics in the rowing industry and a product line of weather instruments for multiple applications, including military, fire safety, hunting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, boating, hiking and the sciences. The firm is a manufacturer of performance monitoring devices for rowing, canoeing and kayaking in Pennsylvania. Nielsen Kellerman received Dealer Design Bronze Winner, Practical Sailor Editor's Choice Award 2008, Most Innovative Product at World of Concrete, Appliance Design Excellence Award Gold Winner awards.
