General Info
Experience the Golden Age of Opera at The Sembrich, the former teaching studio of Metropolitan Opera prima donna Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935), a pianist, violinist, teacher, Polish patriot and benefactor who summered in Bolton Landing from 1922 to 1934. Here, Juilliard and Curtis Institute students sought instruction from the acclaimed Sembrich. Situated on a wooded peninsula in Lake George, the studio contains memorabilia of a distinguished international operatic career spanning over 50 years. Visitors are invited to stroll along the shoreline paths and enjoy the natural beauty of the "Queen of American Lakes" among towering pines. The Sembrich is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Each summer, The Sembrich presents a series of concerts, lectures, films and special events, including studio talks by distinguished music historians and recitals featuring some of today's finest performing artists. Open daily June 15- September 15, from 10:00-12:30 pm and 2:00-5:00 pm.Experience the Golden Age of Opera at The Sembrich, the former teaching studio of Metropolitan Opera prima donna Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935), a pianist, violinist, teacher, Polish patriot and benefactor who summered in Bolton Landing from 1922 to 1934.
