Natural gas is one of the safest, cleanest sources of energy available. Intermountain Gas Company is a privately owned natural gas utility headquartered that serves more than 200,000 customers throughout southern Idaho. Industrial customers account for 58% of the company s sales. Its industrial customers include potato processors, chemical producers, fertilizer plants and electronic factories. Commercial customers account for 16% of sales and residential about 25%. The company was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Boise, Idaho. It received certification from the Idaho Public Utilities Commission in 1955 and connected its first customers several weeks later. IGC operates offices in Boise, Nampa, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Hailey and Soda Springs, Idaho.
