- Comprehensive ExaminationAs a year in a pet’s life is equal to 6 or 7 human years, wellness means a more consistent approach to prevention than a simple annual check-up. For all pets, we recommend wellness exams every 6 months, comparable to a doctor visit every 3 years for you.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlOur in-house laboratory has cutting-edge testing equipment from industry leaders IDEXX Laboratories that allows us to quickly run tests ranging from routine blood screens to comprehensive intestinal parasite exams. Additionally, we have deep relationships with leading reference laboratories, including Antech Diagnostics, for those instances in which we require less urgent testing, complex testing for biopsies or unique analyses.
- Pain ManagementCalusa Veterinary Center is proud to have developed one of the area’s most comprehensive pain management and veterinary rehabilitation offerings. Our highly experienced clinical team is trained in a wide variety of modalities, providing referring veterinarians the opportunity to craft a complete plan for patients across the spectrum of possible therapies. Our team has treated dogs and cats with issues ranging from post-surgery recovery to arthritic pain mitigation. We offer a wide variety of programs and packages to fit any case and can seamlessly work with your regular veterinarian on developing a program that is appropriate for your pet.

- Ear Infection TreatmentPre-Existing conditions – No pet medical insurance company currently covers pre-existing conditions, but each company identifies pre-existing conditions differently. Make sure you understand how each company identifies a pre-existing condition and how they may decide if it relates to a future claim. Even if your pet has a pre-existing condition, like allergies or chronic ear infections, they still may be a good candidate for insurance if they develop an unrelated condition down the road.

- X-RayCalusa’s diagnostic toolkit does not end there! We have digital radiography equipment and on-site ultrasound capabilities for those pets who would benefit from such internal imaging. Further, our relationships with board-certified veterinary radiologists ensure that your pet will receive the highest level of care when they need it most.
- Dental RadiologyExtractions – It is a common occurrence in dogs for teeth to reach a state where their removal is actually very beneficial to the pet’s wellbeing and health. Defects in the enamel layer, fractures, inflamed or infected pulps, and severe periodontal disease are some of the reasons that teeth should sometimes come out. Oftentimes, dental radiography can point to individual teeth that have issues developing where extraction can prevent painful issues for the animal from developing. During every dental cleaning, our patients receive full-mouth radiographs to identify these sorts of issues. If it is determined that a tooth or teeth should be extracted, we will communicate with you to determined the course of treatment that is most appropriate to the client and the pet.
