- Pediatric CareCockerell and McIntosh Pediatrics has partnered with Country Crossroads Counseling to offer counseling and therapy services to our patients. Country Crossroads Counseling is an independent private practice serving individuals and families in Lone Jack, Holden, Pleasant Hill, Harrisonville, Warrensburg, Odessa, Oak Grove, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and surrounding Missouri communities. You can now see one of their licensed therapists in our Blue Springs office.
- Primary CareChildren are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis (except in emergent cases) by the first available provider. If possible, we recommend that you contact our office to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician before using our urgent care clinic.
- Emergency CareWe understand that urgent matters don’t always occur during normal business hours. For that reason, our pediatric urgent care clinic is available 7 days a week. You can walk in all day long, in the evenings and on weekends – no appointment necessary.
- ImmunizationsYour child will grow quickly in the first three years of life and will therefore require frequent visits during that time. Starting at the age of 3, a yearly physical exam by your pediatrician is an important part of your child’s health care. This annual appointment allows the pediatrician to give your child a thorough physical examination, perform routine screenings (e.g., vision and hearing tests), make sure vaccinations are up-to-date and obtain any recommended laboratory testing. It’s also a good opportunity to address important questions relating to nutrition, sleep habits, safety, behavior, teen problems and more.
- AutismVaccines are safe and are effective in preventing serious illness and in saving lives. Based on all current scientific evidence, vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. Thimerosal, a preservative that was in vaccines for decades, does not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. As the percentage of unvaccinated children rises, however, the risk of these terrible diseases to all children, even the vaccinated ones, also rises.
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is characterized by problems with attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. It affects 5-8% of school-aged children. Although children with ADHD can be successful, ADHD can lead to school failure, problems with peer relationships, family stress, substance abuse and accidental injuries if the problem is left untreated.

The exact cause of eczema is not known, but most doctors think it is a type of allergy. Our allergy department has the resources to provide you with the tools that will put you in control of your itchy skin. These tools include a demonstration of how to properly form a moisture barrier as well as a list of acceptable cleansers, moisturizers and detergents.
- AllergiesWe will help you identify irritants and provide practical ways to avoid these contacts. If other allergy symptoms are present, eczema will often improve with allergy testing and treatment.
