The Bloomsburg Police Department provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. It has a K-9 unit that specializes in performing routine patrol duties and narcotics detection. The department works in partnership with residents, business owners and community organizations to address the causes of crime, fear of crime and various other public safety issues. It offers a drug abuse resistance education program to prevent substance abuse through education in schools. The department is located in Bloomsburg, Pa., and is approved by the Law Enforcement Agency. Its K-9 unit is certified through the National Police Work Dog Association and the Pennsylvania Police Work Dog Association.
