Western Avenue Community Center, also known as WACC, is a nonprofit social service organization and community center that serves children, youths, adults and families. Established in 1926, the organization offers immigration, citizenship and social services. It provides homebuying assistance for Spanish speaking residents. Western Avenue Community Center offers boxing, piano, dance, carpentry, cooking and automotive mechanics classes. The organization also hosts summer basketball programs and leagues. In addition, it organizes senior dinner dances on various occasions, such as Christmas and spring arrival. Western Avenue Community Center s after-school programs include nutritional food, tutoring sessions and recreational activities. The organization conducts safety and heath education workshops. It is located in Bloomington, Ill.
