- The Old Blanco County Courthouse was built in 1885. It was only used as a courthouse for 4 short years. The County Seat moved to Johnson City in 1889. The Old Blanco County Courthouse is owned by The Old Blanco County Courthouse Preservation Society, a 501 (c) (3). The mission of the O.B.C.C.P.S. is to restore, preserve, and maintain the Old Blanco County Courthouse as an historic site, and as a productive integral part of the community of Blanco. Dedicated members and friends give and work for the full restoration and care of this jewel from the Gilded Age of Texas Courthouses.
