MDU Resources Group provides natural resource products and related services that are essential to energy and transportation infrastructure. The company is involved in a number of industries through its subsidiaries: Knife River Corporation is involved in construction materials and mining; Centennial Energy Resources is involved in independent power production; WBI Holdings provides pipeline services; Fidelity Exploration Company focuses on natural gas and oil production; and Utility Services provides utilities infrastructure services. In April 2006, the company acquired Desert Fire Holdings, a provider of installation and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems located in Reno, Nev. MDU Resources Group is a member of the S&P MidCap 400 index and is headquartered in Bismarck, N.D.
