This is by far the worst Toys R Us I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Regretfully, I have had the displeasure of having to visit this store on more than one occasion, so I know my negative shopping experiences were not by chance. The customer service representatives are not intelligent enough to understand their own store ads, even after having me, the customer, slowly and painstakingly attempt to explain them so that I might get my advertised item for the sale price. Secondly, they NEVER EVER have their advertised free items in stock. Case in point: buying $50 in Barbie items, the consumer is supposed to get a free Barbie storage case. Yeah, right. Not at this store. Another example: buying certain board games will allow you to receive a free Chocolate Candyland game...not at this store. Sorry, they conveniently 'ran out of them'. But....please still purchase the aforementioned items, because they get 3-4 shipments of their special free offer items in each week so they will surely have the stock replenished. So, that was exactly what I did. Buyer beware...a call placed days later to the manager...now a totally different story...she doesn't know if they will ever get those items in stock. Convenient, huh? And please do not get me started on the uncleanliness and disorganized state that this store is continually in. Seems to me since they don't get the promised stock in to replenish, the employees should have plenty of time to clean and straighten shelves but this is hardly the case. I am starting to believe that this Toys R Us is lacking in merchandise, customer service and much, much more.....

I bought a wireless guitar for a playstation 2, in November 2007, it was defective to this day it has not been replaced. I have been trying since December to exchange it, since it was a gift for my son for Christmas. I have called customer service,and haved gone too and called three different stores several times. I live 2 to 3 hours from all of these stores. I was told in Janurary that one of the stores was waiting for a shipment and that they would call me as soon as they got the guitar in. It is now April and guess what no call and no guitar. I called again today and I was told that it is now a discontinued item, and for me to call again in the morning to speak to another manager. If you want great customer service, you want to be given the run around, and be ignored continue shopping at Toys R Us. From now on I am buying my toys and bikes at Wal-Mart for better customer service & low prices!!

Good place to find variety of toys. Aisles are not large enough to allow for 2 people especially at Christmas.

I agree with most of the other reviewers on this store. I usually have a pretty good experience, but there are a few employees they could do without. I went last week, and the cashier was great. She advised us of a promotion I missed with one of the items I purchased. She saved me a lot of money, when she could have just kept scanning without telling me of the promotion. In the same trip the employees were in my way more than the busy Christmas shoppers. So, it really is hit or miss.

This is a store that I can have a great experience with one time and a horrible experience the next. Usually can find what I am looking for after searching.

I can never go into the store and just buy what I went for. I always find more!!!! My kids love it too.

Why is their only one store in Birmingham, Alabama? I lived in Trussville and I have to drive to Hoover and I don't get to shop that much. TOO FAR!
