Operational for more than 30 years, Samaritan Counseling Center has been counseling individuals and families on various issues. Based in Birmingham, Ala., it offers expertise in preparing for marriage, marriage enrichment, preparing for children, family enrichment, parenting teens, college and career, life crisis and transitions. In addition, the center also provides counseling for grief and loss, spiritual concerns, pastoral and leadership care, sexual issues, stress management and military families. Its Congregational Assistance Program (CAP) is a ministry that provides counseling services, life enrichment education and professional development opportunities for members of congregations and pastors through a contractual relationship.
