The Homewood Police Department provides law enforcement services, promotes public safety and protects the rights and property of residents in Homewood, Ala. The department s administrative division ensures the proper unitization of equipment, supplies and the flow of information in the most efficient and productive manner. The patrol division includes special operations, traffic motor scouts, parking control, the Drug Awareness and Resistance Education program, the tactical team, senior radio dispatcher, relief radio dispatcher, police reserves and special events. Other divisions within the department include the animal control unit, the detective division, technical services unit, the narcotics unit, general investigations and the traffic department. In addition, the Homewood Police Department operates a training facility featuring classes in management, firearms, search and seizure, defensive tactics and ethics.
